clients! Produced by the Custom Builders Council of the Greater Houston Builders Association, our guide will help you select a professional builder, trend setting products for homes today, and provide education on what to expect in building a new home. Education and understanding the process are the keys to a successful experience in building a new home from the ground up or purchasing a custom home under construction.
The directory identifies Houston’s most professional custom builders, associates and the fundamentals that work together during the entire construction process. Members of the Custom Builders Council of the Greater Houston Builders Association are committed to exceeding expectations in their product, processes, customer service and company as a whole, educating themselves about industry issues and trends, and operating their businesses in the best possible manner. One of the great benefits of working with a custom builder who is a member of the Council is each member uses the monthly meetings, education and events as a vehicle for communication and exchanging ideas. The National Association of Home Builders hosts a series of major events around the country that the members take advantage of to grow their business and provide a better service, better product and better price to their clients.
Building a new home is the largest investment one will make both emotionally and financially so you want to make sure you are working with a reputable and experienced company who will take care of you and provide you with sound advice, quality craftsmanship and the latest trends in design and construction products.
To select a custom builder, please visit our web site at www.ghba.org. We are pleased to say that there are over 500 custom builders who are a member of the Council building all over Greater Houston and the surrounding areas. I hope our Custom Home Builders Guide will help you find the right team for you.  Thank you for selection our guide and good luck to you as you begin your journey!
Association Custom Builder’s Council are committed to quality and customer service. You should find the right builders for your project within these pages and through the Custom Builder’s Web site on www.ghba.org. Whomever you choose, always check your builder’s references and be sure he or she is registered with the Texas Residential Construction Commission.
Founded in 1941, the Greater Houston Builders Association is one of the oldest builders and remodelers associations in the country. The Association represents more than 2,300 member companies and 100,000 employees.  The Association is also active in community and charitable events. Each year members contribute property, materials and labor for the Benefit Homes Project. The majority of the proceeds benefit the Texas Children’s Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Almost $3 million has been raised since the program began 28 years ago. The Custom Builder  Council also sponsors one or more charitable projects each year. The goals of the Association are to further the awareness of the members and communities of the importance of professional business standards, to enhance the business climate for its members, and to provide quality obtainable housing to the communities it serves.
We hope your home building experience is a positive one and your home is everything you hoped it would be. Happy Home Building!
